Student Reporters

We are actively recruiting student reporters to highlight initiatives in their schools or communities that address the opioid crisis and the dangers of illicit fentanyl. Some student reporters will have the opportunity to share their stories during the live broadcast of the National Virtual School Assembly.

Check out our featured student reporters below.

Hello! I'm Taevy, a sophomore in high school from Massachusetts. I am passionate about serving my community as president of my high school’s Rotary Interact Club and an alum of the program Women2Women. For my action plan from W2W, I hope to take this virtual assembly as a learning opportunity to further educate myself on substance abuse disorder as well as my community back home.

    CALIFORNIA

Hi! I'm Damian, a high school senior from San Diego, California. I'm a filmmaker and creative artist with the Youth Advocates Club at Mission Bay High School and SAY San Diego, where I've directed and edited films on fentanyl overdoses and teen suicide prevention. I've also aided in drug abuse outreach to elementary schools in my community. I believe every young person deserves access to honest, life-saving information. I use filmmaking for other passions, as well. As an aspiring physicist, I employ my scripting, filming, and editing skills to create engaging STEM content on YouTube (@oimeow). I hope my filmmaking can change the way people think about getting informed, be that with naloxone distribution or studying the history of astrophysics.
